Power Problem

I have an acer travelmate 5730 250gig HHD 4GB DDR2 and my problem is that my laptop does not turn on after i have shut it down it can take upto 10 hrs for it to turn back on, it dosent over heat though, have try'd a couple of things like taking all power source away and pressing power button for 20 seconds then re-apply batterie and lead, can anyone help?
