help! folder reappears endlessly after deleting

i made a folder on my desktop called data cd for storing ripped mp3s in. after i emptied the folder out, i deleted it. it keeps reappearing every single time i delete it. i have tried many things to get it to delete for good such as deleting it in safe mode, etc...it still keeps returning. i have norton antivirus 2003 and it's updated fully....how do i delete this folder it's getting insane!

sweatersplash, welcome to the Forum

Do you have admin rights to the account ? After, rebooting you say the folder comes back, does the content of the folder come back too or just an empty folder ? Is it possible that the software you are using to rip CDs would create the folder, cuz you have to set a default folder to dump the file after ripping, right ?

let us know

cheers

Go into programme folders look for a folder that may match the ripping programme you deleted if you find it delete that folder..This should solve the other folder problem..

Sometimes when you delete a proggy programme files wills till be kept..

A common cause of this is stray software left behind by less than thorough uninstalls. Look for a startup routine that is invoking that s/w and recreating your folder. Google CODESTUFF STARTER for a good startup display.

THANK YOU!

I've been trying to figure this out for weeks!! Thank you!! I had the same situation with Windows Media Player creating a folder sporadically...I just kept deleting it. Again, thanks.
