fat32 or NTFS ?

Smile fat32 or NTFS ?

Can anyone tell me if i do a clean install (not an upgrade) of xp, and convert my hard disk to NTFS from fat32, can i go back to fat32 from xp and then reinstall 98 from a dos based boot up floppy (using the dos fdisk and format)
Forgive me if this seems a daft question but i am not too clued up with computers.....a beginner

I think you can convert your ntfs back to fat32 inside windows xp.

But, if you are looking to get rid of XP, why not just format the whole drive as fat32 and do your install?

Unless you have a lot of data, then I could see the reason for your not formatting.

Have you tried converting your ntfs back to fat32 in XP?

Thats what i wasnt sure about....whether u can convert back to fat32 from ntfs in xp......once i am sure about a few things then i will try a clean install of XP

It is not possible to change back to fat32 from ntfs and keep the current files.
