Grr Software logo testing failed - Directx 9.0b

Hello,,

I really need to install directx 9.0b on my comp but whenever i try installing it a message pops up with a red x on it saying The software you are instaling has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP, and when i click ok it says directx failed to install.

Please help me out.

In the games I play half the people who have #9 have problems & the other half it works fine. Why do you need 9 ? Just curious.
Please put your puter specs on too.

My computer specs are :

2000 + Athlon
1ghz ram
Ati Radeon 9200 128mb pro
Windows XP pro

on my last machine i had problems with dx9, i stayed with 8 untill i upgraded, i have not had a issue with dx9 on my p4 system, maybe you need to upgrade your chipset, sound and video drivers before you install 9.

But before I never had this problem.
Now I had to reinstall windows and I could not install Directx 9 back

if it worked before with no problems on the same machine, what is different now? have you installed all the updates, did you have to load setup defaults in the bios to reinstall wimdows? and forget to change back? did you get a update for something on the last install that you have missed? did you update the bios before you reinstalled? have you added new hardware that wasnt on the machine when you installed dx9 the first time, even if it worked with the first one?
