my documents issue

here's a good one...I give super props to whoever can figure this out, if its possible at all anyway...

i store 90% of my personal stuff in my documents......I just had a huge issue with windows, i let someone use my computer and I come home and my keyboard doesnt seem to work anymore, not even in safe mode. so I end up going out to get that hard drive upgrade ive been putting off so I can reinstall windows XP on that.

so finally I reinstall windows XP on the new drive....I erase most of the files on my old drive EXCEPT my documents...I was going to copy my documents onto my new user account on my new windows XP installation but I am locked out of it because I made it a private folder on my old XP....

so now I'm locked out of my documents....its still on my old drive and about the only directory left....there has to be some way to access it!

please help!

you will have to take ownership of the files, they were protected by the last system, now it does not see the reinstall as your account.
