quick launch problem

I've been having this problem from some time now, and I'm hoping someone can help out.

I'm using Windows XP, and I have my 'Quick Launch' option checked. And because I have several links under my Quick Launch, I'm able to resize the Quick Launch. The problem is that I cannot select the arrows [>>] so that the links are displayed hierarchically, like this. I used to be able to, but now, I can't. I'm sure I wasn't paying attention and somehow clicked something that disabled something else. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried right clicking on on empty part of the bottom bar & using the options offered .

Don't forget to tick > Lock the Taskbar , when you have it the way you like .
