How do I undo delete??? My important files were delted by dad

Hi everyone, my dad has messed up his computer, and now I can't find some of my very important files that were on the desktop. These files are v.imp. to me. I tried searching but they are nowhere to be found. I dont know what to do without them.

Is there any way I can reverse what he did and recover my files?? He had his computer formatted about a week ago. I stored my files after he had formatted the comp. just yesterday he said said that he took apart some of the hardware and put them back.
the weird thing is some files are still on desktop, and some of them arent.

Can some one please help me. I'm really lost without these files. I would really appreciate it!!!!!!!

Keep in mind that System Restore only affects System files. If your personal files were deleted, you'd need some sort of file recovery or "undelete" program like File Rescue.

You can also "search" for the files as they may have been moved. There are many programs available for recovering deleted files.
