Account issues in Windows XP

Hi,

I have Windows XP SP1 Home Edition. I'm trying to set up a limited user acount for my kids. I would like to set it up so that they are not able to have access to the control panel, the right-click contextual menus and also no access to any other programs than the web browser. In other words, disable the control panel and the mouse's right button. Is this possible in any way with XP Home ? I'm beginning to think that it is not because I can't figure out how to do it.

If anyone has any idea that might help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time !


ps. I have not included my whole PC specs because I don't think they matter for the problem that I have...you would probably laugh at them too

Yes, there is a way to do most, if not all, of what you want.

Download and install Doug's Windows XP Security Console . It will give you much of the functionality of XP Home's "gpedit" feature. I got the unlicensed version (to check it out before recommending it) and it works "as advertised."

As the download page says...if you use the unregistered version, you will have to logon to your kids' account(s) to implement the restrictions. If you pay the nominal $10 registration fee, you can do it all from your own user account.
