Reinstall of XP and lost drivers?

Friend has asked me to look at their PC. Refusing to boot etc. Required full re-install of Windows XP home which has been done. Problem now is that whilst the internal 56k modem (Phillips UCT1500) is recognised, XP cannot identify any drivers as being available. Have done comprehnesive searches for drivers for this modem with no luck whatsoever. Has anyone got any information about this modem or drivers for it? Tried driverguide.com, Phillips downloads etc but absolutely no joy.

Apologies, forgot spec of PC concerned:

Win XP Home
60Gb hard drive (1 partition)
1.5 GHz AMD Athlon
512Kb Ram
Creative Soundblaster 5.1
Gforce Ti200 graphics card
Internal Phillips UCT1500 modem

Is it really a "Phillips UCT1500" or is that what XP is calling it? Pop the case, yank the card and look for a manufacturer and part number. Find the appropriate driver for that card and download it. Uninstall the card from system devices and reboot, when windows comes up finding a pci communication device, manually select the directory that you downloaded the driver.
Failing this, go to the computer manufacturers website and try to download it from there, ie: hp.com, dell.com, gateway.com etc.

He has wrote it down wrong.
