Angry Deleting corrupted files

I have a couple files that are bad on my disk (CRC errors). Problem is I cant delete them. And, the problem with that is anything that comes across them like Norton or any other scanning software I might run, cause a critical error, either halting the program or waiting for user intervention.

I don't see why delete cares if the file has a bad CRC, but the question is : How the hell do I get rid of these files!!!!. nothing so far works, even file destroyer type programs I have gotten off the net.

thanks

Perhaps the files have gone, but the reference is still there. (disk error?) Try running diskdoctor.

Boot from the XP CD.

Go into Recovery Console and run chkdsk /r

Then reboot and run disk defragmentor.

And oh ya, BACK UP ANY IMPORTANT DATA YOU HAVE ASAP!

These could be signs of failing hardware.
