zone alarm

my subscription runs out with norton firewall soon, so im going to install zone alarm's firewall.....so my question is, what do i do with norton, i e.do i leave it alone or do i have to uninstall it incase the 2 firewalls conflict...(is it possible they would?)

if i do uninstall it will it affect my norton anti virus at all,i have ms own firewall enabled should i shut it off too.

ps am i right to go with zone alarm, or should i renew my norton.... whats your opinion??

I had Norton and I now have zone alarm. ZA works just as well if not better in my opinion. All I did was set my start up to no longer start up Norton Internet Security. If your internet security is running out isn't your virus subscription going too? If so AVG anti virus works just as well as norton anitvirus.

i went to check that after reading you query, and i have 2 icons on my task bar ,a computer with red cross and one with a green globe.

the pc one says virus definitions 14/04/04
subscription service 20/01/05

the globe one has your subscription ends on 19/04/04.....

and it says personal firewall on the globe's info page,so im assuming that one does the virus bit, and the globe is my firewall bit.

Thumbs up I have both, work fine

I have both and it's better then having just one. Few days ago somekind of virus attacked me, Norton has recognized cookies that came with it, but couldn't recognize exe file that came with it. So Zone Alarm was waiting for it after he tried to connect to internet again and normally asked for permision to connect.

They're the best in combination!
