Games Crashing

When i play games on my computer they keep shutting down randomly, sometimes they will work for a few hours and sometimes just 10 minutes before it shuts itsself down, I'm not sure why this is. Here are some computer specs:

Intel pentium 4 2.4ghz processor
64mb ge force 4 mx (winfast A170)
running in 1024x768 resolution (32bit)
Windows XP home edition

any help would be apreciated.

How much RAM?

Does the problem only occur during games?

Is your video card or processor over clocked?
Try lowering your resolution and going down to 16bit and see what happens.
Check that you have all windows updates, and video card driver updates.
Maybe your computer is overheating, so check that all your fans are working etc CPU fan, video card fan if you have one and system fans.
Sometimes Ram can be the cause of problems like this so what ram do you have and how much.
Also try some basic maintenance work.
