Yes, it's almost that simple (as long as you have a bootable CD-ROM). Here are step-by-step instructions for doing a clean install of XP.

yes yes i have a clean install of windows xp professional already. but all my friggen files are still here..

i want to format my hard drive so i get my complete 60 gigs back and then when i install xp again i will only have 2 gigs taken up and the only thing on my hard drive will be the professional components and stuff..

i just need a cleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaan hard drive so everything will start new again.

and my computer will only boot up with the cd for some reason, it wont boot normally this is why i cant clean install
