XP Network File Sharing

Hi, me, being the nice guy that I am, have decided to share my files with my roomies. Now I am a PC Tech, so I know what I'm doing as far as the basic network setup goes using my router, etc. We all are running XP Pro. What I was wondering is, if there is a way that I can make it so that rather than allowing my roomies to just beable to look at my files, they would have to log onto my machine using a (User Name-Password) popup. Also, would there be a way for me to beable to log everything that they download off of my computer?

If you right click a folder that you want to let them access and click share the box that pops up give you the option of requiring a password. Now if you go someplace like www.webattack.com and go to the freeware section you will find all kinds of free programs that log ip's, key strokes, and a whole bunch of other monitoring tricks.
