Turning off file sharing in a network enviroment

Hi, I'm now wondering something else. Since I'm using a router, and sharing some of my files with my roomies, I was wondering if there is a way to stop the file sharing i.e. being able to turn it on and off with out having to disable the internet connection and with out having to share/unshare my folders all the time?!

If I understand right, you want to be able to share files with your roomies but not let anyone access them via the Internet Connection? If that is the case, why not use NetBeui instead of TCP/IP for file and printer sharing. That way, they may get access to your Internet connection, but they won't get access to your files!

Thanks Jeff, but I figured out what I needed to do, it's just a matter of turning off file and printer sharing as and when needed...
