Taskbar irritation

I'm having an irritating problem with my taskbar info boxes being always on top.

After the computer has been running for a while, when I cursor over the taskbar icons, the information box appears behind the taskbar instead of in front as it should.

The bar I mean is the yellow boxes that show the icon info like time and date. I run Folding@Home and have MBM installed and occasionally cursor over the icons to see my F@H progress and system temps. With the box coming up behind the taskbar, I only see the top half of it and usually can't see enough to get the info. If I have a window open full screen the box doesn't show up at all, so it must be an always on top problem.... the taskbar itself is set to always on top and works OK.
After a reboot the boxes come as they should but revert back after I open a few programs.
Anyone have a cure for this?
