Question about:blank homepage problem

i have windows xp. everytime i log on to windows, mcafee privacy service trys to start, but it displays part of the about:blank default homepage instead of the administrator sign in boxes. usually clicking on something in the window makes a yellow popup add appear which says spyware activity has been detected on your computer. it also creates an error that says windows is having trouble running scripts on this page. closing both of those windows causes the sign in boxes to appear. this also happens when i open mcafee security center. about:blank also remains my default homepage, even when i go under internet options and change it to something else. i've downloaded spybot search and scanned my computer with mcafee and the problem still remains. i would appreciate any incite that anyone could provide.

you need to explain your problem in smaller steps, it is very difficult to understand the way it is written.

just a couple of questions to help us understand your problem...

Does McAfee use Internet Explorer (IE) as the interface application when you change McAfee settings?

it also creates an error that says windows is having trouble running scripts on this page

Have you disabled script debugging ... IE open > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced >Browsing?

Download and install Adaware, update the Adaware and then scan your system, this application sometimes finds problems that Spybot S&D has missed and vice versa.
