Internet Connection Sharing Win XP and 98SE

Have two computers that are running latest operating systems. One is the laptop with Xp and the other is a desktop with 98.
Am running a linksys router with this network.

This was a working system with a cable modem. Have gone to a dialup connection and ran the wizard on the laptop and set the IP address on the desktop to 192.168.0.2.

It worked for a few days. I found a virus on the destop using Ad-Aware and once that was cleaned, and the system rebooted, the access for the desktop stopped working. No problem with the laptop dialing/connecting the ISP.

I am able to see both computers on the network and move files etc between the two.

I have rerun the internet connection sharing wizard on the laptop but no success.

Do anyone have any ideas??
