Restore Point

Hello,

I installed WindowsXP pro and created a 'restore point'
Then I insalled few other applications and in between I kept creating new 'restore points'.

I needed to restore the computer to a point I already created but it failed to do that.

Pls advise. Thank you

XP's System Restore is unpredictable and unreliable, to say the least, at the best of times, especially when you most need it!

Simple as that, I'm afraid!

In future, rely on such products as Norton Ghost and the like, in order to create an image of your HDD.

I agree that System Restore is unpredictable and unreliable, although I've used it successfully many times. You may be able to find some answers in this FAQ from Microsoft, especially:

Q. Why does System Restore display a blank calendar in Windows XP if no restore points exist?

But Norton Ghost and the like are still the way to go IMO. ;-)
