The Super XP AutoTweaker!

Welcome to my Super XP AutoTweaker!

The Super XP AutoTweaker is a compilation of tweaks and settings that I found from various sources (web, mags, etc), and also some of my own discovered tweaks, all in a fully commented, single .reg file!

The advantage of using a single .reg file to customize all your windows settings are many:

1) In situations of reinstallation, fresh installation, deployment, etc, where you apply the same set of settings always. Dont you just hate having to always do the same tweaks every time you install XP? Now all YOUR tweaks are just a click away!

2) The .reg file can even be integrated into an XP install CD to automate the customization process at install time itself (T-13)

3) You can easily edit the reg file with notepad and add/customize the tweaks according to your system/requirements

4) Theres no need to install any tweaking program again! Once you have configured the file for your system, you can always apply all your tweaks in one go anytime anywhere!

5) There are more than 160+ settings and customizations in this file! But its categorised and fully commented so that even a newbie can understand it!

6) Small file size: Since its a reg file, the file size is extremly small- only 40 KB!
------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST edit the file and modify it according to your system! Do not directly apply the reg file without customizing it first!

You can edit the file by right click->Edit, or drag-drop into notepad.

Download: RegTweaks_10c.reg (40 KB)
Edit: Alternate Url

Please feel free to modify the file in any way you wish, but maintain the original format and do not delete any tweaks (comment it instead)

In case you have additional tweaks that you'd like to inculde or use, please mention them as replies to this post.

Happy Tweaking!

Hi dexter

The majority of members would not have a clue what you are on about. In addition, who in their right mind, would download, and utilize, a .reg file from a person that they did not even know.

Even if your motives are sincere and genuine, be careful what you preach.

The majority of quality forums would have deleted your message immediately.

Warm regards

Thanks for your inputs Jazz, you do have a point there.

But I have already posted this file on a lot of 'quality forums', and it has been well recieved over there...

Do you think I could have presented myself in a different way?

Regards,
dex

Wink

Hi dexter

Presented very well actually.

It’s just that you could have started with an easier registry edit and worked your way up. You scared the hell out of me just by reading it dude. *LOL* ;-)

Seriously though, the ‘majority’ of users, as you are well aware, get ‘freaked out’ by the term registry, let alone modifying or tweaking it. In addition, you should have advised potential users to backup their registry, prior to experimenting, and added a disclaimer, IMO. I mainly work as an IT Professional Indemnity Underwriter for a syndicate at Lloyd's of London.

However, all said and done, when I get the time, I will definitely have a peek and send feedback.

By the way, I do like your signature. Never a truer word spoken by a man with such intelligence and integrity.

Regards

i had a chance to look at the file, it does not do anything harmful, does have some of the standard xp tweaks.
IT TURNS OFF SYSTEM RESTORE, so dont count on it saving your butt if you dont like the changes it makes and you have problems or just dont like what it did. once system restore has been turned off it removes all the restore points it had. if you turn it back on the restore points are gone.

Apologies dexter.

I have just started reading your Super XP AutoTweaker and noted that you do have a Disclaimer in the file itself.

I was refering to your initial message!
