sharing files in 2 computers??

Hi guys,
I am trying to set up a small network at home. I have 2 computers connected to a router and the router is connected to a cable modem. Both computers can access the internet but I am unable to share files between the 2 computers. I have run the home and small network wizard on both computers. I have tried pinging the IP from one PC to antoher and I get Request Timed Out

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Following are the details on the computers:

- Both computers are running windows XP
- Both computers are in the same workgroup
- Both computers have Norton Anti-Virus with Internet Security (I have tried disabling the personal firewall but this didn't solve the issue)
- The router is US Robotics broadband router model 8000A


I am pretty sure all the hardware is functioning correctly because both PCs can access the internet. This must be some configuration or setup within XP I am missing. Any Help is appreciated
