It is not clear what you want. I think what you want is to have one of the drives formatted and to be drive d. Next you want the other drive to be drive c? I am wondering if both drives have the same data? What I would do , is to take the old drive and make it a master. Unplug the d drive and let it where it is. Use the old drive ,if it works( for about a week or so. When you feel secure yhat that drive works just fine. THEN. The new drive(which is probably faster than the old one) will be set up as the drive c.NOW----- get the dos drivers from the web site of the manufacturer of the new drive(exa WD. MAXOR< etc.,), if you didn't get the diskettes in the package.Set up the old drive as a master and the new drive as a slave. Boot with the mfg. dos diskette and pick format and copy files to new drive making the new drive bootable. . This will take 4-6 hrs. Just let the system chug away. It will let you know when its finished. NEXT.. Make the new drive master and unplug the old drive. Let it run til you're happy. I would let it go for about a week, just remember haste makes waste. When you're satisfied, make old drive a slave and plug it in. When your system comes up with the new drive in charge, you can go to system tools and format the old drive, or just keep the old drive as it is ( unplugged- this will be a complete backup of your system.) I hope this what you were thinking. Let me know if we must correct the plan. THis will end up with new drive as c and if you format the old drive and plug it in as a slave it will be d. GOOD LUCK
