Have you tried deleting the devices from thre hardware Manager in XP and rebooting? This will force WinXP to re-install the drivers for all these devices, and perhaps this will clear the error. If that doesn't work, try putting the WinXP disc in the CD drive and re-booting- when the PC boots from the CD, choose "Repair Windows XP" from the list of options and see if that helps. Let us know if any of this did the trick.
PS- if you can back up any files you want to keep before doing any of this, either to a different hard drive or a PC on your LAN (assuming yuou have either of these options).
