windows xp system shutdown help!!

ok i have dsl..when im at the windows desktop before i can connect to dsl so i can get online and download windows updates i get a SYSTEM SHUTDOWN message...does anybody have any answers other then typing SHUTDOWN -A because that stops the message but that caueses me not to be able to sign on with dsl

is their a disk i can buy to get rid of it because i cant get on the internet so i cant download any worm removal

once you get the shutdown message, double click the time in the righthand corner and change your date back 1 day. This will prevent you from shutting down and allow you to download what you need.
