having to select windows xp in startup?

for some reason when i start up my cpu it goes like in dos mode and has a list of 3 windows xp's to pick from i usually choose #1 and press enter.
but b4 it would just automatically go to windows now i have to press enter and then wait.is there a way to bypass this like when the cpu was new?-thanks guys -Joey

Right Click 'My Computer' > Properties > Advanced> Startup & Recovery - Settings

You can adjust the Startup Optins in this window.

Warning


Any changes you make could cause Windows to stop booting.

If you really only have one OS. You can remove the options to use the other invalid (2nd & 3rd) OSs by going here:

1. Click Start > Run
2. In the Open: line type msconfig and click OK to open System Configuration Utility
3. Select the tab labeled BOOT.INI
4. Click the button labeled Check All Boot Paths

A dialog box will open detailing the location of any invalid operating system locations.

5. Confirm you want to remove the entry and reboot the system.
