Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error

Hey... When I just reinstalled XP since I had a corrupt NTOSKRNL.exe, now when I go to try and install this program off a cd, I get this msg Entitled "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" and all it says is

" Runtime error!
Program E:\install.exe

abnormal program termination"

I tried running ad aware as someone else suggested in a post I found on yahoo with no luck... Anyone know anything?
