Modem problems after install, help!!!!

Hi could some one help me
I recently installed Windows XP pro non - corporate edition
the installation was totaly fine but when i try to get on the net aol and windows wont detect my HAMR56 or SmartRiser56 voice modem. I had ME installed on my computer before installing XP and the modem was fine please help or i wont be able to get on the net from my home computer!!!!

is it a 56k flex modem? I forget the exact term but the flex is the better of the 56k type modems. For some reason XP wont recognize thse types of modems. You have to buy the older crappy kind. I had the same problem

Had a similar problem with a ME machine uprading to XP. Had a problem finding the drivers for it but if you go to the link below you will get the drivers needed to install for XP.

Smartriser 56 drivers
