Smile low cost service

I usually manage to get fair deals on my service projects.
It must be my honest face ...can't be good looks.
I used to take my family cars to a small repair shop. He would give me the best deal in town. I have an 89 T-Bird Super Coupe that is the toughest car ever to work on. I took it in for plugs and plug wires one time which is a full day job on a good day. He said $200 plus parts ($125-150). So ok. 3 days later when I hadn't heard from him I called and he said maybe today...oh oh. Friday he called and said "pick the d..m car up by 4:00pm" oh crap I think. So I go over about 3:00pm and he says he couldn't believe how much work it was to do the project. So how much?? $325 total. The following week on successive days I sent pizza, barbecue, and Burgerkings for lunches. Great guy too bad I had to move.
The radiator for this car was another story. A repairable all metal one is rare as hens teeth. I took it in to the rad shop and the gal (??) says $50 to rebuild. So ok. 3 days later no rad. so I called . Grumble, grumble not done..try Friday. oh crap. She (??) calles Friday am and says "you got 1 hour to get over here to get this f......rad." I walked in the door and she (??) says $50 please. ok. Then she (??) says "come back with that thing and I kill you dead before you get in the door". I believe she would too. I wasn't sure what food they ate but it probably dripped with blood so I thought I had best keep my distance.
I guess if you treat people with respect they will respond with respect...most of the time.

I already have the latest drivers so I'm going to swap the printer to my wifes computer since it worked there and since she is gone for a week and see if it works there. Then go and get new cart. Not much point in spending a lot of $$$ on a printer as they are pretty cheap now. About 3x the cart. I think at the local comp. store.

This comp is so fast now I can't believe it. It is now down to 45 sec or less to boot from cold and IE or OE are instant. Hope it stays that way.
Thanks again for the help
