PRIMARY HARD DRIVE FAILURE-HELP!!/Image dll.Rundll Problems

I can't figure out why my computer
will sometimes not boot up and other days boot up just
fine.I have windows xp 6.0 MSN is my ISP.I went the whole
weekend without my computer booting up-when I finally
deceided to take it in to fix the problem it started and booted
up just fine without the message Primary Hard Drive Failure
and two beeps follow after that. But since then I have been
scared to turn my computer completely off,so I don't because
I know what might happen again. What do I need to do and
PLEASE TELL ME STEP BY STEP i'm not a computer wizard so
please walk me through whatever your response will be.I
read something about buying a disk and boot up from another
disk or something like that.

P.S. It's windows xp home version.I have the CD but cannot
boot up from the CD.Recovery Console did not work because
it could not find the specific path needed.

Also it stated SPCMDCON.SYS File is missing.
VMGR-Checkpoint error.

Is there a easy soluction for these problems or should
I take it to a computer hardware store and let them fix
the problems.( I'm far from rich)so if there is a way for
me to fix the problems please help me do so.

PPS-I'm having error message on start up
image.dll cannot load
Rundll-cannot load what the heck is that all about, and
how do I stop the all my computer problems??????????

Thank You

Hi Kitten04

I think the message 'Primary Hard Drive Failure' answers your own question, without worrying about the other error messages.

Personally, I would backup all important data, movies, music, etcetera, and invest in another Hard Drive, before it's too late.

The following link explains how you would install a new drive: -

If you are unsure how to install it, take it to a repairer and I am sure that they will also install XP for a nominal sum as well.

Primary hard drive failure does not mean it is broke. (although it could be aswell) but there is avery good chance it is not broke.

You need to do exactly what Jazz has said with good advice of backing everything up you need that is important to you. Once this is done. Switch your computer off. then take the case of and check that the conedctions on the hard drive are sitting tight.

It sounds lie you have a power failure on the drive, to me this could easily be loose conection. I ahd the same problem funny enough a week or 2 ago. I installed a new 120 gig slave drive 2 days later i had a primary hard drive failure. It turned out the conection (power lead) had worked loose. And i ahve a feeling that this may of happened to you.

It could be rigfhting itself it only needs to move a millimetre or 2 to give power and move the same to drop power if the cable is loose.

Do you have the full xp home disk or is it recovery disk?
What company and recovery disk is it from?

If you have the xp home full disk then i can explain how to doa full repair.

Read this about recovery console.http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q307654

Also if you ahve time read through this link. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm

Save this last link for future reading, there is a lot fo good info there.
