Unhappy please help me...

I am not very skilled with computers and/or troubleshooting them, so i was wondering if anyone could help me. My computer uses windows xp. Whenever i power it up and select my username, the first thing to appear after my settings have been loaded is an error message that says the following:

Error loading C:/WINDOWS/system32/bridge.dll
The specified module could not be found

I was wondering if this might be the cause of some problems im having such as: If i leave my computer on for a while, say 2 hours, and come back, it is very sluggish and sometimes my internet explorer will either display a "this page cannot be found" message or pages will take an eternity to load. I would appreciate any help. Thanks ahead of time.

ok i got my problem about the error message fixed, but i still have a pretty big problem. Many times when i turn on my computer and try to access the internet (I have Verizon DSL with MSN) and i cannot sign in on msn or if i try to access limewire it will not connect me to the network. Anyone know a way i could correct this?

I can't help with Limeware since I've never used it but when you try to sign in on the MSN site, do you get an error message or anything containing information that might help define the problem?

Or is the problem with connecting through MS Messenger or Windows Messenger?

The problem is any browser i try to access. I use internet explorer and msn. There are no problems with msn messenger. When i go to the msn sign in screen and click sign in, it will say signing in, but it will make several attempts to sign in and keep attempting to no avail. Also, downloads go extremely slow. When my internet seems to work properly, downloads seem fine and i am able to sign into msn.

Sometimes that could be caused by a too long cord connected from your modem into the phone jack. Also, you should talk to your internet company about this too.
