Can't use 2nd printer on network?

Before reading my problem I'll ask a quick question...is it possible to share more than one printer on an XP network?

Problem: I have a desktop with 2 printers installed by USB cables and both working perfectly. I have setup both printers for sharing.

Downstairs, I have my laptop that I have successfully setup printer 1 and this works fine, i.e. I can print to the desktop printer 1 from my laptop.

I then tried to search for printer 2 on my network, it found it OK and it is setup. However, I cannot print to it! When I try to print something to printer 2 (from my laptop) it just searches and never finds it, despite the fact that it is showing up under the 'Printers' on my laptop control panel.

Answer to your question: YES

In theory it should work, unless there is a an issue with Windows XP that we are not aware of. I have 6 printer connected to on server (via LAN)
Even though you said that you have installed the driver on your laptop I will ask again, did you enable Print Sharing for both printer ? Do you see any error on event log on the Desktop machine ?

You are right, the printer is now working. THe problem I had was I couldnt see the Epson Status monitor on the laptop sop I could not see any 'ink level remaining' I then assumed it wasnt printing. Is it right that I cant see the status monitor on my laptop? Is this only for the desktop machine?
