The Recycler Folder is a hidden folder in the root of your drive.

im sorry it took me long to get back... and also im not too experienced with all this but i hope you can bear with me, i have windows xp and two users on this computer.under my name, i ran norton and there were adware files it could not delete so i followed the instructs and got rid of them. ok, however when i went to my daughters name and ran norton it tells me to go to c:\documents and settings\(her name)\local settings\temp\..etc, im ok when i go to drivec ,and doc and settings,kelli,(her name). but then then there is no local settings file after that the way there was under my name. i dont know how to find her local settings or temp file. also, my original question was abot the following, it lists adware files to remove from c:\recycler\s-1-5-21.....etc. dont know how to find it. i think my xp is not set up right. well i know this is alot and confusing. thanks for the info.( i already love ya because i see your from england. i love everything associated with england. ) love the castle photos!!!

Start off with the simple one, the 'Recycler' is basically the 'Recycle Bin' on your desktop.

To remove files from the Recycle Bin right click the icon then select Empty Recycle Bin, you will then get a confirmation about deleting the files, select Yes.

The Local Settings Folder is a hidden folder.

With Explorer open Tools > Folder Options > View > Put a check mark against Show Hidden files and folders > OK

You should now be able to navigate to the required folder.

OR - If you want to keep the system folders hidden, to prevent any accidents, you could do this:

Click Start -> Run

Type the folder name in the command line:

C:\Documents and Settings\Kelli\Local Settings\Temp

This will open the folder. This can be done for ANY directory on your machine, and it will go to it regardless if it is hidden or not.
