Yes, you are right. When I choose the MusicCD option from the drop down menu in AutoPlay, I have three choices: 1. Windows Media Player, 2. Open Folder to View Files, and 3. Take No Action.
It is within this very window in AutoPlay that I would like to expand my list of choices beyond the above three. And this is what I don't know how to do.
I would like to add another music software title to the AutoPlay window, but the AutoPlay window does seem to have a method of expanding its list of three default options.
Related to the AutoPlay window, when I right click onto one of the music tracks within my drive, and select "open with/choose program, " options, I can indeed select my software program of choice.
In this "open with" window there is even a check box for "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." After clicking ok to accept the change made, the desired program of choice opens up. After I close the program and re-insert the cd in the drive to test the new procedure, the program of choice "does not" activate. In fact, nothing happens, even after I restart the computer.
I think the AutoPlay window is a more powerful tool within Windows XP, but it specifically doesn't have an "open with/choose program" option.
So any tip on how to expand the list in the AutoPlay window is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cliff.
