cannot delete twNRF.exe

The file twNRF.exe (C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\twNRF.exe) is an Adware risk, but I cannot delete it. When I try to delete it. I get the following message"

Quote:
Cannot delete twNRF: Access is denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

Any help is appreciated.

Try Safe Mode or take ownership of the file in question, as per the following link: -

Sorry......

Restart the PC and tap F8 as soon as you hear the first beep.

On my PC, I have to tap F5, so try that as well. However, the take ownership method should work for you.........

The web page says

Quote:

Right-click the file that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.

Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message (if one appears).
Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
In the Name list, click Administrator, or click the Administrators group, and then click OK.
The problem is, when I click properties, there isn't a "security" tab. I am logged into the administrative account for windows xp.
