Ok, I messed up...

Well... Ive been looking around, and so far this is the closest thing ive found anywhere to my system... so Ill try giving it a shot.

I recently got one of those XPS's and they have this new OS called "Media Center" which is supposed to be similar to XP. Any way, My registery(sp?) file corrupted, and I know what Im supposed to do, use the Reboot or what ever its called, but the problem is that I have not been able to get into Bios, and I also never got a disk for the OS.

I know its not an XP, but could anyone help me with this? Anything I could do that doesnt involve sending it back to dell or using those disks would be appreciated.

You could do a system restore. And anyway, what caused the problem in the first place?

Thats what I was talking about! that system restore! Is there anyway I could do that without the disk (and maybe you know a way to get into bios in it (its different for my computer, for some reason)

And what caused it is really a dumbass thing I did where I was messing around with the ascessibility options, didnt like what they did, and instead of thinking about it, removed the batttery right out of the socket. yep, stupid, and now im paying for it.

It should be in Start Menu > Accessories > System Tools

Media Center is just XP Professional with some media stuff thrown in...so it is XP.

Dell computers (which I think is what you're saying you have) usually display a screen during bootup with a line indicating which key to press to "Enter Setup." Press that key when you see that screen...usually the Dell logo screen...and it'll get you into the BIOS.

Dell may have just changed its policy but the Dell I most recently purchased came with a number of CDs, one of which is labeled "Operating System." That's the CD with Windows on it.
