Internet Explorer History Folder

I can't believe I'm asking a question like this that should be basic. I'm pretty much an expert user (I program, have used every version of windows from 3.1, taught Office in classrooms). Anyway this is just ticking me off and I'm tired of looking in Microsoft for the answer.

Where are the Internet Explorer History pages I've found the History folder but it has no pages in it - my internet settings say to keep it for 20 days. Is there another location where the actual pages are.

I need to find a page I visited earlier today.

W/XP Professional
IE - 6.0

looked in both the regular Windows/Temp/History and IE history folders as well as the one in Documents and Settings.

What am I missing here.

With Internet Explorer open ...

Slowly hover across the icons at the top of the page, one of them is called History, click and away you go.

From Kelly's Korner. Of course, this only applies if you're using McAfee AV.
History - Not Being Saved

McAfee gave this solution to the bug where VirusScan 6 stops your Internet Explorer History file working. Hope it is of some help:

Open VirusScan console
Select "Pick a task..."
Select "Change my VirusScan settings"
Select "Configure VShield background scanning"
Select "Customise your VShield settings"

Select the "Internet Filter" icon from the icons down the left hand side On the "Detection" tab, in the 'Applet filters' section, remove the tick next to "ActiveX Controls".

No History

If you are using IE-7 click on down arrow by the "Back" and "Forward" (Left & Right) arrows in the upper left corner of Window. Right above "File".

There you should see History to select. Also you should be able to hit ctrl+shift+H.

Hope this helps.
