1 Outlook account for 2 XP User accounts
Hi Guys,
I have only just recently, made 2 "User acocunts" on my Windows XP PC. Before I had none... let say "one" as the administrator, and that was it.
Both accounts are administrator accounts, ( hard to give the wife a guest account...no? LOL)
How can I set up the oulook (NOT express) on my wifes, User acocunt, so she has all emails as before on the single account.
If I start now Outlook when signed in on the second, new account, Outlook asks to set up a new acount. She would just like to have a copy of what I have as emails on her account. Capiche...?
Thanks for replying,
Brgs,

first search for the email files that are residing on your system.. they have DBX extension so search for "*.dbx" when you find it then try to remember the location... then go on with setting up the second email account for your wife, finally you have to go into Outlook mail storage location and change it to where your email resides..... please remember that if you both use same email account but different storage then your email would be out of sync.....Capiche...?
cheers

Snowmonkey,
So I understand this solution is pretty useless then...! If it is not synchronized...
Am I correct , that there is no way of consulting the Outlook account via the second log-in except by switching users from the second to the first one?
This comes a bit as a disappointement....
Thx,

I don't think you read my post correctly, I have said IF you don't use that same storage THEN your email will be out of sync... but if you are planing to use the same email database then you should be OK,,, that last part was only extra info.
cheers

default email format for POP mail server is not PST, but you could export you default email (DBX) file to PST though.. Default email format for an Exchange server that runs MAPI and POP is PST file.
cheers
