problem with video size in media player 9

Hi:

I was trying to setup an htpc and installed FFDshow to give it a try. I had windows media player 9 open and was watching LOTR on it. I tried the resize feature on FFDshow and resized to 1920x1080 - the standard res for my tv. Well, somehow I have screwed wmp9. I have my tv setup as an extension of my desktop and I have wmp9 setup to open on it. I used to be able to throw in a movie and when it played I would hit fullscreen and all was good.

Now when I hit fullscreen the tv ends up black and my monitor goes black except for about 1" on the left side. The video plays in fullscreen on the monitor but not the whole image and the tv stays black. If I use the restore button on the top left of the player window, the player becomes very very wide and not so tall. I have tried everything from resizing in FFDshow, uninstalling FFdshow, removing codecs and reinstalling, trying to manually resize the player window but to no avail. If I drag the player back to the monitor and hit fullscreen, it plays on there with no problems but it won't play on the tv - It gets huge like always. I can play wmvhd trailers on the tv in fullscreen with no problems. it is just dvd's that cause the issues.

I hope someone can offer a way to fix this or can tell me how to reset the player to default. I need to watch dvd's on my tv again.

Thanks for any and all suggestions or recommendations
