Unhappy Sound recording problem

I have recently started having a problem recording sound via the line in on my sound card. I have been doing this for years with no problems but recently it has started to stutter when recording almost like a needle jumping on a record, I understand this is called "dropout" in the sound industry.

I have removed all processes running in the background and checked all software that I have installed since this happened but still no luck and have even noticed that WAVs I know have recorded fine are doing the same when i play them back on my PC.

Can anyone suggest something to resolve this?

Cheers

B.

Hi barnt

Try updating your sound card driver.
