Thumbs down Cannot Boot

I am unable to boot my WinXP Pro, it started suddenly when I turn the machine on it goes to the normal start screen showing the BIOS settings then the XP Pro logo comes on ant then it shows the blue screen saying Windows is starting up but it just freezes there for a while and it will just cycle and try to reboot with the same result. I cannot get into safe mode. I tried starting it with the WinXP install disk with no help.

Any ideas? Bob

most of the time when this happens it is from virus or a corrupted driver or system file, if it is a driver or system file you can use your xp cd to repair the OS. if it is a virus, a format would be a good idea. if you have files on the drive you have to have about the best way to save the stuff would be pull the drive and slave it to another machine scan the drive for virus, copy the files the reinstall windows.
