Question Removing things...

There are a few things on my computer, games, programs off the Internet that will not remove. There are two different problems that occur when I try and remove it.

There are two games, Trivial Pursuit and Half-life that stay in my Add-Remove Programs list. The game is not present on the computer, but for some reason it always appears on the list. I can't remove it from the list since Add-Remove Programs only runs the Uninstall program provided in the game. But the uninstall is not there, and I dunno have the game CD to replace it. Information on how to remove these from my list would be helpful.

The other problem is a program I downloaded from the Internet called iTunes & iPod. I don't have any trouble with iTunes, but for some reason I cannot remove iPod. iPod appears in my Program Files folder and when I try and delete it, I get a message telling me it's being used by another program and to shut that down before continuing. Well, I open up the task manager and look for any programs that use iPod, and I see one - iPodservice.exe.

I can't end the program from the Task Manager, I only get an access denied prompt. I've checked any other programs that use iPod, but there are none. Info on how to shut this program down would be helpful as well.

PC Info:

Windows XP, Dell PC, Intel Pen 4, Don't know what else you need to know.

Any help would be appreciated.

For the first problem i'd try RegCleaner there is a uninstall tab wich can probably remove both half-life and the other game from the "Add/remove programs" list. For the second problems i don't know.

www.jv16.org for regcleaner, or just look for it on download.com.

hope it helps

Search for a program called Regisrty Mechanic, this is similar to regcleaner. What these progs do is scan your registry and show you a list of registry keys that are no longer in use, few being the file add/remove for those progs

Thanks a bunch Nuke and Okry!

I used Registry Cleaner to remove the games listed in the Add/Remove list, and I also ran a Registry Clean which fix a load of problems.

I found a free trial of Registry Mechanic and I can remove iPod with it. I need to see if it'll effect iTunes first, but if it dosen't I'll junk iPod.

I've had this problem for some time now, and finally it's fixed. Your help is most appreciated. Thanks again.
