Exclamation Personal Settings Problems (Please Help Me)

I was watching TV when ym mother told me that her computer (a dell, windows xp homr or office edition, proabaly home, im not sure, we bought it this year) wasnt loading any of her personal settings or her documents. She asked me if i knew why, or if i had touched her Pc. I told her no, I lied. Earlier that day i had went to the run command and typed in C:\\Windows. I went to there and i was given a warning saying that If i messed anything up, it could affect the way the system worked. I disregared this warning and entered anyway. All i was looking for was some internet files, im not sure..... But see what i dont get is, when i was in there i opened up a few folders, but i didnt do anything. In other words i didnt move any files, or change anything. I just looked. Know that what i did proabably messed up my mothers computer makes me feel horrible. This is because A) I lied to her, and B) my mother is switching carrears, and she has all of her course work, and any documents for work on her pc. I fear that they are lost forever, but i am not sure.

First thing to do is tell your mother the truth so that proper investigation of the problem can be carried out.

Once you have got access to the PC get her to back up ALL her important data before messing with the configuration settings.

Here, here LooseChippings. (Slow hand clap)

The majority of business related problems are caused by the user doing what they should not do and then lying about it to IT...

Nuff said...............

Exclamation

Morning,
Jazz, a good quote EXCEPT that the originator seems to be 10-11 years in age. I hereby repeat: tell mama the truth.
