sp1 for xp no Icons or task bar on re boot

I installed sp1 on my corprate version of xp pro (2600)build
the install went ok but on re boot I had no desktop Icons or task bar.just the wall paper.

I then booted in safe mode the Icons & taskbar appeared & I was able to un install sp1 without any problems.
does anyone know of a fix for this ?

It should noy happen again if yo install SP1.

It happens very rarely.

If it happens agian, boot into Safe Mode, and make a new user account. Then boot normally with that account.

It should boot fine. Then log off the new one and log into your regular account, and it should be back to normal again.

You can then delete the new account you made.

I tried the sp1 install again this morning & once I created a new
admin user in safe mode & rebooted,
Everything Runs Great.
