Please Help!!!!!

When my computer is turned on it loads and passesthe point where the scrrenn is black and you see windows XP is loading. After that it comes to a next screen where its blue and says windows XP. Next is supposed to be the login page where u can sign in as a guest or yourself, and this page doesnt come it just stays there, but its not frozen. I think i got a virus or my computer crashed. Can someone please help, this is very urgent.

See if it will boot into Safe Mode: During the boot process, repeatedly press the F8 key (at the top of the keyboard). That should bring up the boot menu where you can choose Safe Mode.

If you don't have an up-to-date anti virus program installed to scan the system, choose "Safe Mode with Networking" so you can get it online and run a full virus scan at Panda or Housecall.

I now know why my computer is notworking properly. I previously today, went to run, then regedit and when deleting some adware delted the wrong resgistry file. What should i do/

If possible ,go into Safe mode and run system restore..
