Java on Windows XP and IExplorer 6.0

Hello everybody!
It seems i got problems with java and my internet explorer. I have noticed that when there is a code, such as javascript(open, etc) internet explorer (v6.0 on Windows XP with SP1) it doesn't open it.
So i have decided that i need to reinstall java on my computer. I aleady MS's Virtual Machine but i think it is crap so i am thinking of installing SUN's Java. Can u please tell me which files i need to download from Sun's website and in which order to install them?
Thank u in advance guys!

P.S. An example of the problems i got is on http://www.gate13.gr/start.htm where the left frame is not visible at all. Just a white frame!

All you hav to do is go to http://java.sun.com/ , on the right-hand side click on Java VM (Hot) and download. That`s all I did and have had no problems.

I downloaded java and installed and didn't solve my problem at all.
Now i have uninstalled it and reinstalled microsoft vm but still cannot view the pages i mentioned before. Seems that the problem is with javascript and when there is a command to open a new window.
However, i tried to enter the site www.gate13.gr through anonymizer.com and the left frame i was telling u about can b seen fine now!
Do u think that makes any sense?

Talking

I finally managed to find out what was wrong.
I was my firewall. I have been using Norton's Interner Security with Ad blocking, privary control and spam alert enabled.
I disabled them and javascript seems to work fine now...
Thank you everybody for ur replies and ur interest!!

Just a quick point, javascript is nothing to do with Java or Sun Microsystems
