XP continously reboots after SP1 install

Hi,

I need some assistance, I just recently installed XP home SP1, once I did this, my pc continously reboots. Unfortunately I had a virus on my pc, and turned off the system restore option while cleaning this virus. I forgot to turn it back on before the SP1 install.

I have tried rebooting into safe mode and last known good config, but I get the same results.

Does anyone know of a fix? I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

Dude, the reason for constant reboot is not virus ,, if you have a black listed serial number that starts with F..CK-*** then you will get that reboot problem, Microsoft did that intentionally.

I don't see how my SN could be blacklisted since it is a legitimate copy of XP.

It was installed when I purchased my HP pavillion? Also, I removed the virus first, then decided I better install SP1.

Could it possibly be something else?
