Driver IRQL not less or equal

Hi,
I keep getting blue screens every once in a while telling me that the driver IRQL is less or not equal. It also said something about ptserial.sys and completing a physical dump. It says that it might be newly added hardware so I figure it might be the dialup modem i recently installed (i was on cable but moved back home to the boonies so dialups my only option) I took out the ethernet card so its only dialup modem and all my other stuff. Any ideas?
