DirectX 9 crit update killed my sound
About 4 days ago, my wife dl'd the latest critical update for DirectX9 from the MS site. After this installed, she lost all sound. The speakers are hooked up correctly, and we never changed the "mode" her speakers are categorized as (when the software for the sound card). We even tried going back more than a month, and using that XP checkpoint, and nothing.
Her specs are:
Athlon 800 MHz with a Gatewayboard (don't know the exact make/model)
680 PC133 RAM
Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer PCI sound card
Win XP home
I've even hooked my speakers up, to no avail. Did this update mess with the RAID controllers, or something?
