If I can link my two computer via firewire, because the port on my laptop is the size of the end that goes into my camera, is there anything I can do with that? Also if there is I must need windows xp on both computers correct?
You can transfer files between your laptop and PC. And XP already has the sofware you'll need to do it - the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" (All Programs - Accessories - System Tools). Having XP on both would make it easier obviously, but can,t say for sure if it's essential
No. Yes you can definitely share files and folders across Firwire. All you need do is run the network setup wizard. Look in Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>communications. It will set it up for you and then create a disk to put in the non-XP PC to get it set up. It is a pretty easy process. Hope this helps.
