installing win98 with upgrade cd

I want to install win98se but i remember at install it asks for authentication and I usually just showed it my old win98 cd but i don't have that anymore. I want to install from the win98se upgrade cd. When it asks for a previous version of windows can I point to my windows xp hard drive or where to? I want to know if I can install win98 in a seperate partition alongside winxp with only the win98 upgrade cd.

Never done it, but you may well find a problem cos
your effectively 'downgrading' not upgrading.
Just try it and let us know! If it refuses to install it can't be to
hard to find someone to borrow a win 95/98 disc just to fulfil
the requirement. And make a copy of it for next time.
